State of Hawaii Department of Insurance Requirements |
- Beginning with August 16, 2012 renewals, continuing education requirements for ALL agents will be a total of 24 hours. The breakdown for single or dual license types is as follows:
- Single licenses need 21 hours relating to line of insurance AND 3 hours in Ethics/Laws.
- Dual licenses need 10 hours in Life/Health, 11 hours in Property/Casualty AND 3 hours in Ethics/Law
- Expiration dates are on the 16th of each month and completed credits must be reported to the state department one month prior to expiration date.
- Course provider is responsible for reporting course completion to the state.
- Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party.
- Excess credit hours may not be carried forward.
- Courses are repeatable every renewal period.

- Exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party
- Proctor must be present during entire length of final exam
- After completing and submitting exam online, a downloadable version of the Affidavit for Test Administrator form must be printed out from the computer which the exam was taken and signed by the proctor.

- After Affidavit has been filled out and signed by proctor, please fax to 619-222-8593
- Upon receipt of the Affidavit, you will be given access to print out the certificate of completion for the course that was succesfully completed.
- Credits for completion of course will be submitted by roster via Online System to the Hawaii Insurance Division once a week on Wednesdays.
